In the earlier chapters, we read about the 3 Gunas or 3 states of Energy that enabled the creation of the universe.

These three states – Sattva, Rajas & Tamas together form 5 elements that are said to be the building blocks of our material world. When all the three Gunas or energy work together or descend together, they manifest in the 1st element which is Ether.

Everything created on this earth is composed of these 5 elements –

Ether ⇒ Earth ⇒ Air ⇒ Fire ⇒ Water

These are the 5 Elements in Ayurveda, with which our materialistic world is built.
